Who We Are
A Statewide Coalition United for Oral Health Access
The New York Partnership for Dental Therapy is a statewide coalition of organizations committed to expanding access to oral health care by authorizing dental therapists to practice in New York.
Dental therapists are credentialed oral health providers, trained to perform preventive and restorative care. They extend the reach of dental practices into communities that have long gone without adequate care, including rural areas, low-income communities, and communities of color. Authorizing dental therapists to work under the supervision of a dentist would create a proven, cost-effective solution to the state's oral health workforce shortage.
The Partnership brings together health care providers, community organizations, patient advocates, and others who believe that where you live or how much money you make should not determine whether you can get the dental care you need.
